The Fox Hill Club in Longmont, Colorado, recently unveiled its latest enhancement — a set of six brand-new pickleball courts. This development follows a club survey that showed strong member interest in pickleball, prompting the club to update its facilities to include the increasingly popular sport.
Brad Roumaya, the general manager of The Fox Hill Club, emphasized the club’s commitment to aligning its offerings with member interests.
“Our members’ satisfaction and enjoyment of recreational and social experiences guide all of our decisions,” said Roumaya. “The addition of these six state-of-the-art pickleball courts underscores our dedication to offering our valued members the latest and most in-demand amenities. Pickleball’s rising popularity presents a fantastic opportunity for us to not only meet the desires of our current members but also to attract new social members to our vibrant community.”
To make space for the new courts, the club repurposed two of its existing tennis courts. This ensures that members have access to top-notch facilities for both sports. Alongside its pickleball and tennis courts, The Fox Hill Club also boasts a championship golf course, a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a restaurant with a full bar and outdoor patio, which is open to the public.
The club plans to provide dedicated staffing for the pickleball courts and organize various programs and events to encourage participation from players of all skill levels.
Judi Laursen, a certified pickleball professional at the club, commented on the benefits of the sport.
“Pickleball is an exhilarating sport and low-impact activity that promotes cardiovascular health, improves hand-eye coordination and helps individuals of all ages to stay active and engaged,” said Laursen. “From introductory lessons for beginners to competitive tournaments for seasoned players to open play, we look forward to helping our members get involved and experience the fun and excitement of pickleball.”
Longtime club member Jim Roby shared his enthusiasm about the addition. “It’s fantastic to see The Fox Hill Club continuously evolving to meet the interests of its members,” he said. “I’ve been playing pickleball for a few years now, and I’m thrilled that the club has made this investment. It’s a fantastic sport that’s easy to pick up — and a great way to stay active and socialize with friends.”
The Fox Hill Club is a premier private country club, celebrated as a “hidden gem” in northern Colorado. It offers a range of amenities including a private 18-hole championship golf course, a swimming pool and cabana, fitness center, and extensive event programming.
