The former Pickleball Club location in Lakewood Ranch has reopened under new ownership and leadership, following the closure of its parent company earlier this year.
The Pickleball Club, which had previously announced plans to open 15 high-end pickleball centers across Florida, ceased operations in January. At the time, the company cited insufficient financial resources and began liquidating assets, including its two operational clubs in Lakewood Ranch and Port St. Lucie.
The Lakewood Ranch facility has now reopened with Matt Lund serving as CEO. According to a LinkedIn announcement, the club has undergone renovations and upgrades, including climate-controlled indoor courts, a redesigned food and beverage area, and a new pro shop. Additional amenities such as a Wellness & Recovery Center featuring HydroMassage beds, red light therapy, and cryo lounges are also planned.
The club now offers full locker rooms, a wellness space and 12 dedicated pickleball courts.
“We’re not just opening a club — we’re creating a space where people of all ages and skill levels can play, connect and belong,” said Lund, in a statement.
Details regarding the terms of the ownership transfer or financial arrangements related to the reopening have not been publicly disclosed.
