Michigan has its first fully autonomous indoor pickleball facility: Pickleball 365. The 24/7 club offers an accessible, community-driven space for players of all skill levels.
When founders and owners Robert and Deanna Lorincz discovered the sport, they never imagined they’d find such a supportive community, too.
“We found a local park with outdoor courts and became very close knit with the people,” said Robert. “We fell in love with the community.”
At the time, Robert was exploring new business opportunities. Noticing the growing demand for pickleball in their area, he and Deanna secured a promising location near their home and launched Pickleball 365.
The facility features three courts and is open around the clock, giving members total flexibility to play whenever their schedules allow. It’s one of the first U.S. facilities designed by John Design and Consulting, and it partners with JOOLA and PodPlay to enhance the playing experience with professional equipment and smart technology.
Beyond its 24/7 autonomous model, Pickleball 365 sets itself apart with thoughtful design details like CushionX flooring, premium lighting and instant replay technology.
The CushionX courts are designed to minimize impact and reduce the risk of injury — a feature members regularly praise. “You’re not going to walk out with knee, joint or foot pain,” said Deanna. “We’ve heard from multiple members these are the best courts they’ve ever played on.”
Premium lighting blocks out shadows, ensuring consistent visibility, and instant replay allows players to review close calls or save standout plays to share.
Community-building has been at the heart of Pickleball 365 since the beginning. Robert and Deanna credit much of their success to the relationships they’ve built and the trust they’ve earned with members. Through face-to-face conversations and a strong social media presence, they’ve been able to connect with people both locally and beyond.
Attention to detail has also played a critical role. Deanna stressed the importance of creating a cohesive, intentional environment so members feel a true sense of belonging.
“We didn’t leave one stone unturned,” said Deanna. “The community has said everything we are offering them as members is of value, which reaffirms the journey we’re on.”
As Pickleball 365 continues to expand its reach, its accessibility and flexible format remain core strengths. To further engage members, the facility plans to introduce leagues, tournaments, clinics and additional programming designed to make the space even more inclusive and dynamic.
