PickleRage is continuing its national expansion push, announcing a new franchisee-owned location planned for Bucks County, Pennsylvania, marking the brand’s first facility in the state and the latest signal that purpose-built indoor pickleball facilities are becoming a popular franchise investment as the market grows.
Founded in 2023, PickleRage operates a membership-based indoor club model that targets year-round play regardless of weather or season. The Bucks County club will include dedicated indoor courts, professional-grade amenities and programming designed to serve a broad range of skill levels, from recreational newcomers to competitive players.
The Pennsylvania announcement is part of an aggressive growth trajectory. According to the company, PickleRage is targeting more than 500 locations over the next five years — a goal that hinges on continued franchise development across new and existing markets. Locations are currently open or in development in multiple states, with recent openings including a North Charleston, South Carolina club earlier this year and an Austin, Texas location prior to that.
“Bucks County is a dynamic and thriving community with a strong appetite for active, social experiences,” said David Smith, the COO of PickleRage, in a statement. “We’re excited to introduce a top-tier indoor pickleball destination that brings people together.”
For operators watching the space, PickleRage’s expansion pace highlights a space the industry is actively navigating. As franchise concepts increase and court supply grows rapidly, differentiation in programming, member experience and community integration will determine which operators build lasting businesses. PickleRage is betting that a community-first model, backed by the consistency of a franchise system, is what will do so.
