PURE Pickleball & Padel (PURE) has announced a partnership with HonorHealth, one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems, to bring elite sports medicine services to the facility, soon to be under development in Scottsdale.
Under a multi-year letter of intent, HonorHealth will become PURE’s exclusive health and wellness partner. The collaboration will introduce a 3,000-square-foot sports performance and recovery center within PURE’s state-of-the-art facility, set to open in mid-2026. The development is part of a joint venture between PURE and Caliber, a real estate investment, development and management firm.
Through the partnership, HonorHealth Sports Medicine will offer a comprehensive suite of services tailored to the needs of athletes. The program will include first aid, athletic training, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and safe-path-to-play support following injuries. This initiative is designed to meet the growing demand for specialized sports medicine among the region’s rapidly expanding pickleball community.
“We think of PURE as a lifestyle development that aims to improve the lives of the people in our community,” said Kevin J. Berk, the CEO and co-founder of PURE, in a statement. “We are aligned with HonorHealth in serving the community, promoting health and wellness, and ensuring that any player seeking sports medicine services receives world-class care.”
The PURE facility will span 186,000 square feet and feature 50 indoor courts (48 pickleball, two padel), a 1,200-seat pro arena and country club-level amenities. These will include a restaurant and bar, pro shop, gym, recovery spaces, VIP lounge, office space, and family-friendly areas like childcare.
Caliber and PURE are jointly developing an 11-acre parcel in the Riverwalk Development Project, a 100-acre site in the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community adjacent to Scottsdale, for the project.
With an estimated 800,000 annual visitors, the venue will cater to casual players, corporate events, national tournaments and more.
“Caliber’s commitment to the communities we invest in is to generate real impact for real people and this project is perfectly aligned to that objective,” said Chris Loeffler, the CEO and co-founder of Caliber, in a statement. “Pickleball continues to be the fastest growing sport in the country and Scottsdale has one the most active pickleball player communities in the sport. The investor interest in this project has exceeded our expectations and we look forward to breaking ground on this premium destination at our Riverwalk development site as soon as is feasible.”
