The Flying Pickle is bringing its indoor pickleball concept to Post Falls, Idaho, marking the first franchise expansion for the Meridian-based brand founded by professional players Susannah Barr and Nick Petterson.
Owners Alana Ashby and Duane McPherson announced The Flying Pickle – Post Falls is slated to open in June 2026. The location positions the club as a regional hub for players from Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and surrounding communities.
A 24-Court Model Designed for Scale
Once complete, the facility will feature 24 cushioned, fully fenced and oversized courts, making it one of the largest indoor pickleball venues in the Pacific Northwest. The club is designed to meet rising demand for year-round indoor play while layering in social and hospitality elements that extend beyond court time.
Among the facility’s key features:
- A 70’ x 50’ championship court with bleacher seating for tournaments and showcase matches.
- Thirty-two-foot ceilings, oversized cushioned courts and optimized acoustic treatments built to pro tour standards.
- Integrated video technology, providing members free access to court recordings for replay and training, along with live-streaming capabilities for events.
- A full calendar of programming, from learn-to-play clinics and drill sessions to competitive and social events, with availability for private bookings.
- Off-court amenities including a full-service restaurant and bar, mezzanine viewing area, pro shop, locker rooms and dedicated lounge and meeting spaces.
“Our goal is to provide a welcoming and spacious pickleball experience without compromise,” said Mike Johansen, club director, in a statement. “By combining professional-grade courts with a full-scale social hub, we are creating a destination where the community can truly come together, whether they are here for a high-stakes tournament or a Friday night dinner with friends.”
Strategic Co-Location with Selkirk Sport
The Post Falls club will sit adjacent to Selkirk Sport’s new distribution warehouse, creating a strategic co-location opportunity. Selkirk will sponsor the facility’s pro shop and serve as an ongoing partner to the club.
The expansion comes as The Flying Pickle continues broader growth efforts, including a second corporate location in Nampa and 10 additional franchises currently in development.
Founders Memberships Released Ahead of Opening
In advance of the June 2026 opening, the club has introduced a limited number of Founders Memberships. The tier includes the lowest available rate on the club’s Pro Membership for life, an annual price guarantee, one free month of dues in the first year, a TFP x Selkirk Founders swag bag, early soft-opening access and Pro Membership benefits, including access to other Flying Pickle locations nationwide.
The facility will also offer monthly and annual memberships, as well as guest pricing for day-use play.
