As fall settles in and Halloween approaches, pickleball operators are building programming around the season. Themed tournaments, costume contests, and family-friendly events give clubs a low-barrier way to engage members, attract first-time visitors and fill courts and food-and-beverage venues during a typically slower stretch of the year.

1. Nightmare at The Picklr
Some locations of The Picklr hosts Nightmare at the Picklr Oct. 23 to 26. The Halloween-themed DUPR tournament is open to players 18 and older, with teams of four.

2. Monster Smash
The Pickle Lodge Lunken Landing in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents Monster Smash Oct. 23 to 25. The weekend event features a round robin tournament, a costume contest, themed drinks and prizes.

3. Haven Halloween

4. Halloween Tricks Throwdown
Picklewood in Seattle runs the Halloween Tricks Throwdown from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. The haunted round robin includes rule changes, along with a costume contest and themed cocktails.
